Overview

The Cape Verdean Coalition of Human Rights Defenders brings together civil society organizations committed to protecting human rights in Cape Verde. Affiliated with the West African Network of Human Rights Defenders (ROADDH/WAHRDN), it works to maintain a presence throughout the archipelago, despite the geographic dispersion of the islands that make up the territory. Its priorities include protection and early warning, advocacy with authorities and regional bodies, and capacity building for actors on the ground. Based in Praia, it relies on a network of local organizations present on the archipelago’s main islands.
