Overview

The Ghanaian Coalition of Human Rights Defenders brings together civil society organizations committed to protecting human rights in Ghana. Affiliated with the West African Network of Human Rights Defenders (ROADDH/WAHRDN), it contributes, like the other English-speaking coalitions in the network, to coordination among the French-speaking, English-speaking, and Portuguese-speaking regions of the subregion. Its priorities include protection and early warning, advocacy with authorities and regional bodies, and capacity-building for actors on the ground. Based in Accra, it relies on a network of local organizations active throughout the country.
