Overview

The Guinea-Bissau Coalition of Human Rights Defenders brings together civil society organizations committed to the protection of human rights in Guinea-Bissau. Affiliated with the West African Network of Human Rights Defenders (ROADDH/WAHRDN), it works to ensure coverage throughout the country, including the hard-to-reach island areas of the Bijagos Archipelago. Its priorities include protection and early warning, advocacy with authorities and regional bodies, and capacity-building for actors on the ground. Based in Bissau, it relies on a network of local organizations operating both on the mainland and in the archipelago.
