Overview

The Malian Coalition of Human Rights Defenders brings together civil society organizations committed to protecting human rights in Mali. Affiliated with the West African Network of Human Rights Defenders (ROADDH/WAHRDN), it pays particular attention to the safety of human rights defenders in the northern and central Sahelian regions, which are exposed to regional instability. Its priorities include protection and early warning, advocacy with authorities and regional bodies, and capacity-building for on-the-ground actors. Based in Bamako, it relies on a network of local organizations operating throughout the country.
