Overview

The Nigerien Coalition of Human Rights Defenders brings together civil society organizations committed to protecting human rights in Niger. Affiliated with the West African Network of Human Rights Defenders (ROADDH/WAHRDN), it pays particular attention to the safety of human rights defenders in Sahelian regions exposed to regional instability. Its priorities include protection and early warning, advocacy with authorities and regional bodies, and capacity-building for actors on the ground. Based in Niamey, it relies on a network of local organizations operating throughout the country.
