Overview

The Nigerian Coalition of Human Rights Defenders brings together civil society organizations committed to protecting human rights in Nigeria. Affiliated with the West African Network of Human Rights Defenders (ROADDH/WAHRDN), it coordinates its efforts across a vast and densely populated country characterized by significant regional, linguistic, and community diversity. Its priorities include protection and early warning, advocacy with authorities and regional bodies, and capacity-building for actors on the ground. Based in Abuja, it relies on a network of local organizations present in the country’s major regions.
