From August 07 to 11, 2023, an Ordinary General Assembly of the West African Human Rights Defenders Network (ROADDH/WAHRDN) was held at the Hôtel AHODIKPE, in Lomé, Togo, to discuss crucial issues, including the renewal of the organization's governing bodies.
Organized by ROADDH/WAHRDN with the technical and financial support of Frontline Defenders (FLD), the meeting brought together the heads of the network's member coalitions and focal points.
During the meeting, new guidelines for the smooth running of the network were defined. In addition, numerous discussions were held to find appropriate solutions to the challenges facing the secretariat, the various coalitions and focal points in their respective countries.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to set up a new Board of Directors (BOD), whose members were proposed to all present. This General Meeting enabled the members of the Network to strengthen and consolidate their ties.
ROADDH/WAHRDN would like to pay tribute to the commitment and availability of each coalition leader and focal point for their effective participation in this Ordinary General Meeting. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to FLD, whose involvement was crucial to the organization and success of this event.
The holding of this Ordinary General Meeting is a significant step towards strengthening the implementation of the organization's strategic plan, the promotion of human rights.
