The West African Network of Human Rights Defenders (ROADDH) in collaboration with the Togolese Coalition of Human Rights Defenders (CTDDH) organized a press conference at its headquarters in Lomé, Togo.
The meeting is part of the implementation of the project: "Un Réseau Sécurisé pour l'Afrique de l'Ouest: Un Réseau Renforcé de Défenseurs des Droits Humains comme Acteurs de Paix et de Prévention des Crises", co-executed by Le ROADDH, Protection International (PI), and Partnership for Justice (PJ), with financial support from Zivik and Protect Defenders. Implementation of the project, which began in November 2022, will be completed by the end of October 2023.
The aim of the conference was to provide an update on the project's activities, and to inform the press of the advocacy actions underway with the Togolese authorities on issues linked to sexual violence, gender equity, the fight against corruption, governance, impunity and public policy reforms.

During the meeting, Ms SONHAYE KOMBATE N. D. Mélanie, Director of Programs and Advocacy at the ROADDH Secretariat, in her opening statement, praised the actions undertaken by the Togolese authorities and encouraged them to pursue and finalize the implementation of the UPR recommendations.
ROADDH and CTDDH welcome the availability of the press. They extend their sincere thanks to the technical and financial partners, whose support has been decisive in the implementation of the project's activities.
