On September 07, 2023, the West African Human Rights Defenders Network (ROADDH/WAHRDN) in collaboration with the Togolese Coalition of Human Rights Defenders (CTDDH) organized an advocacy lunch at the Hotel M'Rode, in Lomé, Togo, for the implementation of the UPR recommendations.

The luncheon followed a preliminary meeting of human rights organizations (ODDH), who drew up an advocacy document to present to the authorities and discuss with them the state of implementation of recommendations relating to sexual violence, gender equity and justice, the fight against corruption, governance and impunity, the promotion of human rights and public policy reforms.
The meeting brought together representatives of the ministries in charge of the targeted recommendations, the CNDH and representatives of human rights organizations (ODDH).
During the meeting, the various representatives of state institutions reassured the ODDH of the readiness of their respective departments to work towards the implementation of all the recommendations.
ROADDH and CTDDH welcomed the commitment and availability of state authorities to work in partnership with ODDH for the implementation of the targeted recommendations, and intend to pursue their advocacy actions.
This initiative is part of a joint project led by Protection International, Protection International Africa, Partnership for Justice and ROADDH/WAHRDN, with financial support from Zivik and Protect Defenders, with the aim of making Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) essential actors for peace.
ROADDH and CTDDH extend their sincere thanks to the technical and financial partners, whose involvement was crucial to the success of this activity.
